Email design, abandoned booking · Paris to Verona

An abandoned booking email for a night train over the Alps: a departures board in live text and a cabin held until midnight.

The brief

Win back the booking left at the payment step, before the hold on the cabin runs out.

What we designed

A split flap departures board leads, set letter by letter, with the Verona train marked held. The headline gives the deadline and the line under it says what happens after.

The ticket carries both times, the cabin, the car and the price, with one amber button. The night follows stop by stop, from Paris to the Brenner Pass at first light, and the cabin is described in three short lines.

How it is built

• The departures board is table cells of live text, no image
• 600 px wide, built in tables with inline styles
• The brand's fonts, with web safe fallbacks for clients that block them
• Images at twice their size for sharp screens, alt text on every one
• Preheader, preferences and unsubscribe in place
